Maximilian Glass – born 05.07.1996 in Erfurt – lives and works in Berlin.

SOUND ARTIST / COMPOSER / INSTRUMENT BUILDER
From 2014 Glass experiments with analog & digital source media. Here he reinterprets various playback devices as musical instruments for his own electronic & electroacoustic music including extended techniques and the use of everyday objects. Solo, duo & ensemble concerts starting in 2019 and since 2022 he is realising installations including self-built instruments.

FREE RADIO ARTIST
From 2017 Glass, guided by Ralf Wendt, creates a monthly program on Radio Corax (Halle a. d. Saale) for 2 years. He has since been a free radio artist in scenarios of temporary interactions including Space21 Festival (Slemani, Kurdistan-Iraq), Radio Industry (Woltersdorf), Papiripar Festival (Hamburg), Radiolab of Seanaps Festival (Leipzig) and Meakusma Weekend (Eupen, Belgium). Radiophonic compositions are created here as performative setups in radio plays & sound collages, mediating experimental radio practice. As part of the 2019 Seanaps Festival, Glass co-realized the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Radio.

CURATOR
Site-specific events have been curated by Glass since 2014, where a variety of new concert and performance formats are established, as well as experimented with (and in) installations and exhibitions. This initially in the hometown of Erfurt, later in Halle a. d. Saale, Leipzig and Berlin. From 2018 to 2022 Glass is working on the artistic direction of Seanaps Festival (Leipzig), and since 2019 co-creating at NNOI (Zernikow).

OTHER
From 2017 Glass releases sound recordings. For example, as part of Daizy&Holy, a compilation featuring 26 international artists* who crossed his paths will be released in 2020. Tours have been organized and people from different scense connected. It’s about networks. Glass creates the meeting framework for artistic exchange of participating actors.
